Assignments due on the first day of class. IT MUST BE COMPLETED IN AN ECONOMICS NOTEBOOK hand written. You will need a notebook you use ONLY FOR VE. This is your first assignment in it.
For the below assignment you may need to use your personal Gmail account or your NYC Students account. Try both to access any documents below.
1. Research & Select at least 3 positions you would like to interview for in the VE company (this involves research on potential positions within the firms). Write a minimum of a 1 paragraph pitch that would CONVINCE someone that you would be GREAT for this position in the firm! You must have an electronic version of this pitch on the first day of school. This can be done in Microsoft Word or Google Docs. (REMEMBER - Other students are applying for the same positions so make yourself stand out! Research what the positions are responsible for and why you would be the perfect fit for that role in the company.)

2. Come prepared with an electronically written resume in Microsoft Word or Google Docs. Your Resumes will be finalized during the first week of school. See the link below for more information on how to write and prepare your resume.

3. Answer the following Questions in a GOOGLE DOCUMENT and save on Google Drive. Research some of content content but write at least 3-5 sentences in your own words on each question. (Do the best you can by researching on google or asking your family and friends. All of these questions will be extremely easy to discuss as we talk about economics throughout the year.)

OPPORTUNITY COST: What is an opportunity cost? Give two examples of an opportunity cost in your personal life.

SUPPLY & DEMAND: What is Supply & Demand? Give two examples of how Supply & Demand works.

INTEREST RATES: What is the current Federal Funds Rate? In general, what are interest rates and how do they impact businesses/consumers? Would you borrow money from someone if the interest was high? Why/Why not?

STOCK: What is a stock of a company? How much is Apple Stock worth today? How much is PayPal Stock worth?

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: When evaluating the success of Apple as a company, what are 3 Key Performance Indicators ("KPIs") that dictate if they had a successful Year?

IMPROVING PRODUCTS: Name 2 features that would make an Apple iPhone better than it is today. If it had those features why would that help Apple?
